My very sweet friend and fellow battle buddy is graduating with her teaching degree in May, I am so excited and proud that she has accomplished this and I cant wait to see what the future holds for her and her son.

Birth is an exciting time for your entire family, but it can often be a challenging period for older siblings. Many of us live far away from family and struggle to find a trusted individual to provide short notice and/or overnight childcare during the birth of your new edition.  Our Sibling Doula Service allows your partner to fully participate in the new baby's birth and/or watch their child while we support the laboring mama for short periods of time. 

The following services are included at your home or your birthing location when its time to welcome your newest family member:  

• 24/7 on-call availability to provide childcare for your upcoming labor. This means that your Sibling doula limits the amount of clients (Birth, Postpartum, etc.) that she contracts with for your due month.
   
• up to 24 hours of childcare for your older child during the day or night. There is an additional cost for more than one child. We can pick up or drop off your child at daycare, carpool, etc.
   
• 1 hour long consultation before labor begins so that everyone meets and is comfortable with each other. We want to be informed of the child's health issues, medications, etc. emergency contact person (other than a parent) and ask such details at this meeting.
• If time permits I will document your labor as much as I can if present at the birthing location. I will also include a kid friendly camera to your child to document his/her experience if child is age appropriate. You will receive my photos hand edited downloadable from a secure gallery.
   
• We will bring your child to meet their new sibling after you give birth and will include hand edited portraits.
   
• If you are birthing at home, birth center or hospital, we will provide doula support to the laboring mama if it is necessary for the other parent to be with the child for short periods of time. If you prefer to have your child present in the labor room, we will explain what is happening during labor so that she or he is not frightened and can participate accordingly. If it becomes necessary to remove your child from the labor room, we will engage him or her in another activity so that you may concentrate on your labor and birth knowing that your child's needs are taken care of.
  
  
  Sibling Doula fee starts at $30 hour with $125 on call non refundable payment due at contract signing
• Rely on us for your peace of mind. During labor, our Sibling Doula Service provides on-call babysitting for your older child(ren). This service includes but is not limited to the following: 

  • 24/7 on-call availability to provide childcare for your upcoming labor
  • up to 24 hours of childcare during the day or night
  • 1 hour long consultation before labor begins so that everyone meets and is comfortable with each other

  Please understand that a Sibling Doula does NOT replace the need for a Birth Doula during labor. Usually, families have both doulas present during labor and birth.

After starting out the day with our well water pump going out right after I had jumped in the shower and started to wash my hair, to rushing out of the house and forgetting a valuable asset to my camera at the house. I am greatly pleased that I got to meet and document this amazing, beautiful, full of laughter and love this family has! You all brighten up my not so best of the day with all your joy and I thank you for it!
