Why hiring a birth photographer is so important
I get asked this question all the time on why
would I have someone in my labor room I don't know documenting my child being
born?
My answer is always WHY WOULDN'T YOU?!?! The birth of your child
is one of the most momentous and emotional occasions in your life. You
take photos at your child's birthday every year, why on earth
would you not want to document his/her "birth" day.
The first breath, touch, cry, hug, kiss, umbilical cord,
placenta that nurtured your child. These are just some of the
moments that are lost in the mist of giving birth. The last thing on
your significant others or support persons mind is, I better
have the camera ready and snap all these first! They want to experience it
along with you, not see it through the lens of a camera.
These first moments fade away pretty quickly after birth. With
your hormones, adrenaline and all
the excitement, a cloud fogs these moments BUT with
a professionally birth photographer present documenting all
these first gives you the opportunity to re live all these precious moments
over and over again.
Most don't bat an eye when it comes to maternity or newborn sessions. Why would you not want a professional documenting the raw moments of YOUR baby
entering the world and the moments that lead up to the event.
Birthing is one of the most important
journeys in life, and to have that story captured in everlasting
portraits beginning to end is something very special
and cherishable.
So again I ask WHY WOULDN'T YOU WANT A BIRTH PHOTOGRAPHER?
