As we are wrapping up breastfeeding awareness month for August, I was blessed to be able to document precious bonds between mother and child for quite a lot of mothers and families.

This beautiful mother of three came out for one of our breastfeeding photography sessions in celebration of breastfeeding awareness month. I am over the moon at how beautiful this session went.  💕 There is nothing more precious then a nursing mother.

I was given the opportunity to document some beautiful mothers during black breastfeeding week celebration at Women's Birth and Wellness Center in Chapel Hill to help normalize black breastfeeding. Black infants have the highest mortality rates in our country, and yet many black women do not receive the support they need to breastfeed successfully. One of those challenges is visibility – most images of breastfeeding do not reflect a diverse population. I am hoping that by documenting these sweet mothers and babies we can help make a difference in our community.
